At long last, I've moved off wix and migrated to using Google sites.
This is a move which i've been looking to do for quite a while, since being plagued with that Ad banner at the top.
I chose to migrate to google sites after being told about it by a very helpful Mr Yokim. After checking out its features, it honestly seemed like a good destination to move to.
There was a small issue with this process: Style
My old website style was refined over many years, and I came up with it through numerous iterations of fonts, colour schemes, UI/UX tweaks and just overall a lot of editing so my mind would be satisfied with every inch of the page. The cards system was something I was really proud of, in solving an easy way to show off project details and give a visualisation of the work, and I really didn't want to lose that.
To keep this up, I have to be honest: I haven't completely left wix. I've just changed how you see this right now.
I still use their editor to solve the visual difficulties with my site, then I 'recreate' them here.Â
The result is a page without that pesky banner that makes the site look way more unprofessional. I'd much rather prefer that small 'i' button at the bottom left of the page, as it's less intrusive.
The whole migration process took around 3 and a half working days, thanks to how easy it was to get used to google sites' editor. (This isnt a sponsored advertisement, I promise).
From here, I really just wanted to get this done before the month was up, since that's how long I acquired premium to remove that banner.
Alright, I shall be geting back to cleaning up the rest of the site,
Catch you around :)
